Meet The Team

Zeb is the President at KettleHouse Brewing and has been with the company since 2013. He is a fifth generation Montanan and Missoula native. Prior to joining the world of craft beer, Zeb and his wife Lacey lived in her hometown of Dillon, MT where he did training and development as well as site location for Great Harvest Franchising’s corporate office. After traveling the country extensively, he has come to agree with John Steinbeck’s statement that, “Montana seems to me to be what a small boy would think Texas is like from hearing Texans.”

Zeb loves to spend time outdoors with his wife and two daughters, Abigail and Madison. They are kind enough to let him disappear during the fall to pursue his love of archery and rifle hunting for big game, which obsesses him to the point of mental illness.

Hello. My name is Al Pils and I work for KettleHouse Brewing Company. I was born in Madison, Wisconsin where I lived until 1993 when I moved to Missoula to pursue good times and the “Wilds of Montana.” In 1995, while living on 5th Street, I noticed a banner that read: “Coming Soon, U-Brew.” My roommates and I quickly signed up to “brew” a batch of beer at this new business called “The KettleHouse.” We were able to make some pretty tasty beer thanks to Tim and his staff. I harassed Tim enough that he hired me in 2000. I had landed my dream job of working for a brewery! Since then, I’ve done a variety of things at the K-House including working in the taproom. Now, I work as the outside salesman. It’s been an awesome ride and I can’t wait to see what happens next. When I’m not at work I can be found outside enjoying all the recreational opportunities our great state has to offer.

Tim Peterson is the Lead Brewer at the Southside KettleHouse. He first brewed at the KettleHouse U-Brew in the summer of 1996 and started as an employee in March 2012. A native of Bozeman, Montana, Tim has over 20 years’ experience manufacturing food grade goods including cheese and Coca-Cola products. 12 of those years have been spent working in the Montana Craft Brewing industry.

As a lifelong Montana resident Tim enjoys a wide variety of outdoor activities, especially; alpine skiing, fishing, golfing, and biking. One of Tim’s well-known passions is cheering for the Montana State University Fighting Bobcats. He feels fortunate to have remained in Montana (the last best place) for most of his life, and to have been married to Dionne, his wife of 21 years. Tim’s favorite KettleHouse beers are Unfiltered Eddy Out^® Pale Ale, KettleHouse Kommon, and Extra Special Ginseng.

I started working for Kettlehouse Brewing Company in July of 2009 as a Canning Line Worker and since learned many other aspects of brewery operations. I currently oversee shipping and receiving logistics (yes, I drive a forklift every day). I grew up in Corvallis, Oregon, not far from Deschutes Brewing Co., which brews one of the first craft beers I came to love, Obsidian Stout.

I like adventures at home and abroad. On a trip to Japan in 2014, I attended the Great Japanese Beer Festival in Tokyo. Since then, one of my favorite meals to have with beer is a bowl of homemade ramen. In Montana, my wife and I like to hike in Glacier, canoe on Kintla Lake, and explore the unique corners of our adopted state. I’m a classically trained viola player, and away from work, I’ve played drums and sang in different local bands. I’m a proud member of “Rocks in the Kettlehouse”, our brewery-sponsored curling team. I’m the skip (look it up).

Stouts continue to be one of my favorite styles. I believe KettleHouse’s own Zula™ Stout to be the best stout in the state and on par with other nationally recognized beers in this category. My favorite place to sip one is on a sheet of ice after a curling match. However, you can always find a four-pack of Double Haul^® IPA is always chilling in my cooler. It’s KettleHouse’s gold medal IPA, and it’s delicious.

Hi, my name is Scott, and I’m a member of KettleHouse’s packaging crew where I work as a Canning Lead. I am originally from Frederick, Maryland, located in the footsteps of the Appalachians. My hometown brewery, Flying Dog, is where I got my first taste for delicious, craft beers. I moved to Montana to attend Montana State University where I received my Bachelors of Science in Ecology and Fish & Wildlife Management.  In 2017, I joined KettleHouse Brewing Company and currently operate the classy, Krones brand, German can filler. This is my first brewery job, and I am super happy and proud to be part of a team that makes amazing beer.

Outside of work I enjoy hiking, swimming in rivers, exploring the open road, climbing, playing cards and board games with friends while drinking the variety of beverages life has to give us! But most importantly, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful fiancée and our crazy coonhound. Cheers!

I have been working at KettleHouse Brewing Company since 2012 as a Can Technician, Safety Officer, and now Facilities Lead. I was born and raised in western Oregon in the shadow of Mt. Hood. My experiences and skills gained while serving in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Machinery Technician have aided my work at KettleHouse. When I am not working I can be found laughing with kids and dog Bronston, in the mountains, playing music, fixing bicycles, working on my house, and RVing in the 73′  El Dorado. Porters are my go to when choosing a beer, and spicy beers like  Jalapeño Double Haul^® IPA are my favorite.

Sarah began working at KettleHouse in the spring of 2010 and is the Taproom Manager of our Northside location. Sarah loves to chat about beer. If you get the chance to visit the taproom please make sure to ask her about our award-winning brews or any new cask, barrel-aged and other seasonal beers our talented and creative production staff has created.

Sarah was born and raised in North Dakota but first became intrigued by Montana as a young teen after watching the movie, A River Runs Through It. In 1999 she moved to Glacier National Park where she spent several years working seasonally between there and Whitefish Mountain Resort. In 2004 she moved to Missoula’s Northside and attended the University of Montana where she earned a degree in Rural and Environmental Sociology. When she is not slinging beers, she can be found hanging out with her partner Johnny in and around the beautiful mountains of Western Montana.
