We are open seven days a week, except major holidays, serving pints noon until 8 pm and closed at 9 pm at our Northside location. At our Southside location we are serving pints noon until 9:30 pm daily and close at 10pm. Growlers, Crowlers® and other to-go options are available until closing at eachlocation.

Where are you located and how do I get there?

Currently, we have two Missoula locations where you can drink beer – the original location, affectionately know as “Southside” at 602 Myrtle St and the “Northside” at 313 N 1st St W. Both locations have a brewery and taproom.

Southside – 602 Myrtle St

From I-90: Take the Orange St. exit. Travel south about one mile, across the river and turn east (left) on S. 3rd St. W. Go until Myrtle St., and turn south (right). Go one and a half blocks. It’s the orange building on the left.

From the south (Hwy 93): From Brooks St, turn north onto Stephens Ave will turn into Orange St. and go approximately 2 miles to S. 4th St. W. Turn east (right) and go until Myrtle St. Turn right on Myrtle St. It’s the orange building on the left.

Why can I only have 3 pints at your Northside taproom?

Good question. Pursuant to Montana State Law, a brewery taproom can only serve 48 oz of beer, or 3 pints, per person per day between the hours of 10am and 8pm. The Myrtle Street location has a different licensing structure, so it is not technically a taproom and is not bound by the same restrictions.

Why do you have two different locations?

The Myrtle St location, our original birthplace, opened in 1995 as a Brew on Premise. Over the years, this location morphed into a full fledged brewery and taproom. As the demand for our canned beer increased, we quickly realized we needed a larger production facility. KettleHouse began remodeling the Northside location in the spring of 2008, started brewing at the new location in the spring of 2009 and opened the taproom doors and taps in July 2009.

Technically, we have three locations – our new production facility in Bonner, MT came online in January 0f 2017. A taproom is slated to open in summer of 2018.

What is your Community UNite program?

Thanks for asking! Every Wednesday night, we feature a different community group at our Northside location. Between the hours of 5-8pm, KettleHouse donates 50 cents from every pint sold back to this community group. We began this program at our Myrtle St location years ago, and they were so popular that we had to turn patrons away! We now host the UNites at our N 1st St location. Even if you’re visiting our taproom just to have a beer on a Wednesday, you are helping give back to the Missoula community! For more information visit our Community UNite page.

Who's the genius that came up with putting your beer in a can?

That would be our founding member, Tim. Tim’s our big idea man… as in, “What’s the big idea, MAN!” Tim and Suzy love the great outdoors, and basically wanted some of their beer to have in their raft. Tim figured if it were a flop, we could at least sell a few out of our taproom.

Do you sell cans at either location?

You can find canned 4 packs of Cold Smoke® Scotch Ale, Double Haul® IPA, Eddy Out® Pale Ale  and shorties (shortfill cases of cans) on a limited basis at our MyrtleSt location.

Where can I buy your beer away from the brewery?

You can find 16 oz. singles, 4 packs or 8 packs of Cold Smoke® Scotch Ale, Double Haul® IPA,  Eddy Out® Pale Ale, and Fresh Bongwater® Pale Ale in cans or you try our beer on tap around the glorious state of Montana. Check out our beer finder to find a great establishments offering KettleHouse brews.

Do you sell kegs out of the breweries?

We do not sell kegs out of the breweries. We’ve partnered with local retailers to offer that service.

What beer to-go can I get in your taproom?

Pick up a growler or Crowler® of our fresh beer at either one of our taprooms.  Intermittently, we have canned 4 packs of Cold Smoke® Scotch Ale, Double Haul® IPA,  Eddy Out® Pale Ale, and Fresh Bongwater® Pale Ale at our Myrtle Stlocation.

Can you ship me some beer?

No, unfortunately due to Montana state laws and the postal service regulations, we are not legally allowed to ship to individuals. Plan a trip to Missoula, Montana instead!

Do you actually brew at your breweries?

Yes, we do! We have a fully functioning brewery at each of our locations. What you are drinking in our taprooms was brewed in-house by one of our great brewers.

Do you can on premise?

All of our canning now takes place at our new production facility in Bonner, MT.

How much beer do you produce in a single year?

In 2016, we produced about 16,000 barrels (bbl) of beer. One bbl is 31 gallons, so it’s equivalent to two 15.5-gallon kegs. We’re on pace to produce 21,000 bbl in 2017.

How many cans do you fill in a year?

This year we will fill 2.7 million cans. This is roughly half of our total beer production. There are  248 (16 oz) cans in one bbl.

Do you give tours?

We will begin giving tours at our Bonner facility in the summer of 2018. In the meantime, ask one of our taproom folks for information about our KettleHouse Beer Kolledge. Tours are part of the curriculum. Availability and class sizes are small so enroll promptly to ensure a spot!

Do you have food?

We have snacks – like peanuts, Chex mix, and potato chips. You’re more than welcome to bring in grub from some of Missoula’s delicious establishments close by or ask your server for the names of restaurants that deliver. Depending on the season, the occasional food cart will sprout outside either of the taprooms, keep your noses pealed.

Are kids allowed in the taprooms?

Well-supervised kids are welcome. We do serve delicious sodas for the young and non-drinkers.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

There is Wi-Fi available at our Northside and Myrtle St locations. Ask any one of our fantastic servers for the password.
